Step One: Sign up

If you haven't created a uSync account before, this is the page you'll land on when you visit After you've gone through the phone verification process, you'll be prompted to enter your personal info.

After that it's time for profile customization. Simply drag and drop your profile photo. (You can use the slide bar to zoom in or out.) It's best to use an image 500 x 300 or larger to make sure it's not pixelated.

Next, you'll be prompted to add your cover image. This is a larger image than your profile photo and will be featured on your profile page. I recommend picking something with depth, like the view of Austin at night that I took from the Congress Ave Bridge. Try to find an image 1920 x 1080 or larger.

Now that you're done customizing your profile, you'll have the chance to click on some of you interests. This is so that your feed will pull up content you might enjoy.

Step Two: Design Your Profile

Start by entering something about yourself under your profile picture.

You can fill out your profile as much or as little as you like. If you scroll down on your profile page, you'll see the Long Story Short Section. This is where you can give an at-a-glance overview of what you've done. You can enter where you work, where you went to school, even what social events you've attended.

Just below that, you'll see another section that helps others learn more about you and what you like to do. Simple enter as many bullet points as you like. This is not a resume though so get creative!

Step Three: Discover

Remember when you picked some interests when you first signed up? You can add more in your profile:

The more you add, the more content you'll see in your feed related to those interests. This is what your feed will look like on the home page:

If you see something you like, click on the three vertical dots to open a menu of options.

You can also filter the way you discover content by opening up the menu on the top right:

Step Four: Create

You can create many types of content in uSync: Stories, Crowds, Events, Songs, Playlists and Collections. Let's say you wanted to create a Story about how to start dancing tango – tips that I wish I had known when I first started. The upper righthand menu will let you choose the type of content you want to create:

Next, you'll want to give your story a title and some text underneath:

uSync will give you a cover image to start with, but you'll probably want to customize your own. Simply click the cloud icon and you'll be prompted to upload your own image.

Now it's time to tell your story. Scroll down to the Gallery section and start adding photos or videos. After you upload a photo, you can add a title and description.

Step Five: Share

Let's say you want to share that story with a friend of yours. Click on the three dots at the top of the page and you'll see the option to share.

If you want to make it public, you'll get an url you can copy. You can also share it with the uSync community only if you prefer, or share it with specific people by typing their name in the search bar.

What are you waiting for? Follow these simple steps to get started. Be on the lookout for another article that dives deeper into the sharing possibilities uSync has to offer.
